Ghusl, or ritual purification in Islam involves a specific set of steps to ensure cleanliness before performing acts of worship. Here’s a general guide on how to perform Ghusl:

1. Intention (Niyyah):

Begin with a sincere intention to purify yourself for the sake of Allah. This intention is made in your heart, and you do not need to verbalize it.

2. Say “Bismillah” (In the name of Allah):

Start the Ghusl by saying “Bismillah.”

3. Wash the Hands:

Wash both hands up to the wrists thoroughly.

4. Clean the Private Parts:

Wash the private parts with water to remove any impurity.

5. Perform Wudu (Ablution):

Do a complete Wudu, including washing the mouth, nose, face, arms, and feet. This is similar to the standard ablution performed before prayers.

6. Wash the Head and Hair:

Pour water over your head and ensure that it reaches the roots of the hair. For men, this involves getting the water through the hair, and for women, it includes ensuring the water reaches the scalp, including through any braids if applicable.

7. Wash the Whole Body:

Wash the entire body, starting with the right side and then the left. Make sure that water reaches every part of the body, including under the armpits and between the fingers and toes.

8. Ensure Thoroughness:

Ensure that no part of the body remains dry, and that the water reaches all areas.

9. Finish with Any Additional Practices:

Some people may follow additional practices, such as washing the feet again if they had been previously washed during Wudu.
