If someone is unsure whether their prayer (dua) is being accepted, there are several ways to seek reassurance:

  1. Trust in Allah’s Wisdom: Understand that Allah knows what is best for you. Sometimes, what you ask for may not be granted in the exact way you expect, but Allah’s wisdom ensures that the response is in your best interest. In the Quran, Allah promises to respond to His servants’ supplications, though sometimes the answer may come in a different form—through delays, alternatives, or something better.
  2. Sincerity in Prayer: Ensure that your prayers are sincere, made with humility and without haste. Allah loves those who call upon Him earnestly. A key aspect of dua is turning to Allah with sincerity, regardless of whether the answer is immediate or not.
  3. Good Character and Actions: Strengthening your relationship with Allah through righteous deeds, repentance, and maintaining good character can increase the chances of your supplications being accepted. Engage in acts of worship, such as performing your five daily prayers, seeking forgiveness for past sins, and helping others.
  4. Patience and Perseverance: It is important to be patient and persistent in your supplications. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) taught that a person should continue to make dua, even if the answer is not immediate. The act of repeatedly turning to Allah is itself a form of worship and trust in His plan.
  5. Pray at Special Times: Certain times are considered more auspicious for prayer, such as during the last third of the night, after obligatory prayers, on Fridays, or during Ramadan. Seeking these moments can increase the likelihood of having your supplications accepted.
  6. Signs of Acceptance: Sometimes, feelings of peace, contentment, or a positive change in circumstances can be signs that your prayer is being answered. Even if you do not immediately see the result, trust that Allah is working in your life in ways that may not always be visible.
  7. Trust in Allah’s Mercy: Allah is full of mercy and understanding. Even if you don’t feel like your prayer is being answered in the way you expect, know that He is always listening and His mercy encompasses everything.

If you feel doubt or uncertainty, remember that doubt itself is a part of human experience, and the best remedy is to keep praying with a sincere heart and full trust in Allah’s plan for you.
