If a Muslim is invited to a gathering where haram (forbidden) food is served, they should:

1. Thank the host for the invitation

2. Politely decline the haram food, explaining their dietary restrictions

3. Offer to bring a halal (permissible) dish to share

4. Participate in non-food activities and socialize

5. If unable to avoid the haram food altogether, minimize their participation

6. Be respectful and considerate of the host’s feelings

7. Use the opportunity to educate others about Islamic dietary laws (if appropriate)

Remember, maintaining one’s faith and values is important, while also being a gracious and respectful guest.
